Passed away peacefully on Sunday October 1, 2023 in Clinton at the age of 65. Proud and loving father of Angela Hartin & Jamie Riley, Lisa & Joe Karpyshyn, Nicholas Hartin, and the late Nikita Hartin (2021).
Loved and cherished “Grandpa” to Jeylin, Westin and Chanel and fun loving “Papa” to Mitchell, Emmalyia and Karalyna. Dave leaves behind his sister Darlene and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Wib & Margaret Hartin, twin sister Doreen and brother Dan.
Dave will forever be remembered by his vibrant and witty sense of humour which often had him laughing at his own jokes. Dave’s deep rooted passion for music was something he loved to share with all throughout his years as he found comfort and meaning in many of the lyrics. Dave liked to share his knowledge and love of history with family and friends and would often share his recollection of events over a coffee and a sweet treat. Above all, Dave was a family man who cherished those he loved and made the most of his time with them through reminiscing, sharing laughs and making heartwarming memories. Dave will be deeply missed by all.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Thursday, October 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Registration is appreciated. Please clock “Register Now” below, to register. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of Dave’s life will be held at a later date.
Donations to Centre for Addiction and Mental Health would be appreciated by the family.

To Dave’s Family,
I am very sorry to hear of his passing.
Dave was my dad Alex’s roommate at Huronview and he was such a great companion/friend for my dad especially during the COVID protocols when it was difficult to get to see my dad. They shared many laughs and loved picking on each other but overall they looked out for one another. Couldn’t have asked for a better person to be there for my dad.
I wish I could attend in person on Thursday but I will be out of the country. Please know you’ll be in my thoughts.
My condolences to you all.
Doug MaDonald
