Passed away peacefully at AgeCare, Parkhill on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Erle Hamilton for 58 years. Cherished mother of Nancy and Dean Hindmarsh, Richard (Sandy) Hamilton and Colleen and Jason Haskett. Adored grandma of Jacob (Cosette) Hindmarsh; Brandon (Erin) Hamilton, Megan (Nathan) Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton; Sarah (Jared) Haskett, Evelyn Haskett, and Daniel (Maryn) Haskett. Dear sister of Margaret Horner, Elaine (Bill) Dunn, Phyllis Lightfoot, and sister-in-law of Darlene Hamilton. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Gladys Schade, brothers-in-law Earl Horner, Jack Dunn, Doug Lightfoot, and Jack Hamilton, sister-in-law Elaine (Bill) Yearley, and her parents-in-law Erle and Abigail Hamilton.
Mona spent over 53 wonderful years on the farm alongside her loving husband Erle, creating a warm and welcoming home. Known for her pleasant nature and vibrant spirit, she shared kindness with everyone she met. Mona had a deep love for gardening and took great pride in her homemade pickles, which were a favourite among grandkids. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren, whom she adored and remained actively involved in throughout her life.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at AgeCare Parkhill for the care and compassion provided to Mona during her stay.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street, Exeter on Tuesday, June 24 from 11:30 – 12:30 PM, where Mona’s funeral service will be held at 1 PM. Interment at St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery, Brinsley.
Donations to MS Canada in Mona’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
