Passed away peacefully at her home, with her loving family by her side, on Thursday, March 11, 2021 of Hensall, at the age of 67. Cherished wife of Peter Groot for over 47 years. Proud mother of Jennifer, Eric, and Ryan. Adored grandma of Molly, Henry, and Hazel. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Marjorie Shupe, Georgina and Reinhardt Schreiter, Linda Kieffer, Michael Black, Ron Kieffer, Karen Weishar, John and Elze Groot, Marianne and Glenn Warwick, David and Shari Groot, Margaret Munn, Pat Groot, Elizabeth Groot, Chris and Rhonda Groot, Jeannie Groot, Joey and Patty Groot, and Jerry and Julie Groot. Elaine will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Oscar and Anna Marie (Corrigan) Kieffer, brothers Bill and Roger, sister Corinne Black, sisters-in-law Joan Kieffer and Darleen Thedorff and brothers-in-law Lorne Shupe, Ralph Weishar, and Paul Munn.
A private family memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 16th at 11 AM. Cremation with interment St. Boniface Cemetery on the Bronson Line. Though the service is private, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your own home. Stream the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh. A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at a later date, when family and friends can gather and share all of the wonderful stories and fond memories.
Donations to the Humane Society London & Middlesex or St. Elizabeth Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
