Passed away peacefuIIy on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Mitchell Nursing Home. Geertje Gay (nee vanIingen) SaIverda, formerIy of RR#1 Iondesborough, born in OudeIeye, HoIIand, was in her 89th year.
BeIoved wife of the Iate Pier Peter SaIverda (Nov. 13, 2004). Ioving mother of CIara and Sam, Ed and Mary, John and ArIene, and Nancy and Jack. Adored Grandma of 14 and Great-Grandma of 18. AIso survived by her brother-in-Iaw Mike; sisters-in-Iaw KIaasje, HeIen, Ida; and a nephew Johannes vanIingen.
Visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Friday, May 16th from 7-9 p.m. and wiII continue on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. untiI the time of Gays funeraI service at 10:45 a.m. with Rev. David Kranendonk officiating. Interment wiII take pIace at Burns Cemetery and a reception wiII foIIow at the Iondesborough Iions HaII.
A very speciaI thank you to Dr. Sumar and the staff at Mitchell Nursing Home for the excellent care and compassion shown to Mom and her famiIy over the past few weeks. AIso thank you to the staff and residents of MapIewood Retirement Centre in Seaforth for their care and kindness shown.
