GARINTHER: Ronald “Ron” Charles George

GARINTHER:  Unexpectedly but peacefully, at London Health Sciences Centre – University Hospital, on Friday, July 28, 2017, Ronald “Ron” Charles George Garinther of Grand Cove Estates, Grand Bend, formerly of London and Montreal, age 77.  Beloved husband of Maureen Florence (Heaney) Garinther.  Loved father and father-in-law of Wendy and Steve Decker of Orleans, Glenn Garinther of London, Kimberley and Keith Detweiler of Drayton, Kathleen and Stuart Cheesmond of Kitchener.  Cherished Papa of Hannah, Chloe, Sydney, Halle, Calvin, Aidan, Carter and Quinn.  Remembered by his niece Laura, nephews Stephen and Michael and their families.  Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.  with Alhambra Prayers being offered at 2 p.m., Parish and Family Prayers at 6 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Prayers at 7:45 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Eulogies being read at 10:45 a.m.  The Rev. Fr. Tony Laforet Celebrant.  Interment Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery, Montreal on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.  Ron was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1977.  He served with the Knights of Columbus Council #8961 – Parkhill, was Past Grand Knight, Past District Deputy and presently Faithful Navigator of the 4th degree in Lucan, Bishop P.F. Crinnon Assembly # 2511.  He was also a member of the International Order of the Alhambra, Grand Bend.  Ron was an educator at Catholic Central High School and St. Thomas Aquinas in London and started his career as a Chemistry Teacher in Montreal.  If desired memorial donations (payable by cheque) to “Blessings” Foodbank, Zurich or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
