Dr. Barrie Earl Elliott, who was born October 29, 1942 in Hamilton, passed away at LHSC – Victoria Hospital on Monday, February 10, 2025, bravely fought his battle against illness and travelled a long tough journey for many years but did not give up. Thankfully he is now at rest.
Predeceased by his loving wife Stella Elliott (Sept. 2024) and his two brothers Philip Elliott (May 1974) and Rev. Dr. Mark Elliott (Jan. 2007), brother-in-law Robert (Bob) Quinn (Apr. 2019), as well as his parents Edgar Elliott (September 1988) and Joy Elliott (July 2009).
Survived by his sister Sharlene Cowan (John), sister-in-law Irene Quinn, brother-in-law John Szymanski (Deborah), several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins. Barrie will also be sadly missed by his dear friend Patty and his helpful and caring neighbours, David, Elaine and Boris (Heather).
He was an excellent dental surgeon in London, ON for many years and enjoyed their property along the Maitland River for over 50 years with his wife. Painting and photography were among his other passions, not to mention fishing.
In accordance with Barrieโs wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no celebration of life service.
We would like to thank all the nurses and PSWโs who cared for Barrie when they came to his home. Special thanks to his great-niece Ella who selflessly became his caregiver and housekeeper the last 3 months of his life.

To Barryโs family I send sincere condolences. I worked as a Dental Hygienist in Norm MacFarlaneโs office around 1975 when I first moved to London. Barry was a sweet man who often made my day tolerable. I still have the Christmas present that Barry gave me. I have lived in Bayfield for twenty years and we have had a sailboat here for twenty-five years. I asked several friends from the Benmiller area but no one knew Barry. What a shame that we only lived 15 kms away all these years.I would love to have reconnected with Barry. Blessings to all who love this wonderful fellow. I share your sorrow at his passing. Sincerely, Dawn Cumming.

I am so saddened to hear of Barrieโs passing, I was unaware that he had been ill. I worked as his dental assistant for over ten years and he was a joy to work with.
I miss his great sense of humour. My condolences to all.

Sharlene, John and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Barrie and Stella have been in our prayers and on the prayer list at our church for the past year. Barrie was the big brother I never had and I admired him. I will miss him.

Our love and condolences to the family. We were privileged to make his acquaintance at several family gatherings. His battle was long and hard and he fought it with amazing bravery and determination. He was often in our prayers.
