At LHSC Westminster Campus on Saturday, December 9, 2006 David W. Hammel of Birr in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Nellie (Heibein) Hammel. Dear father of Paul and Mary Hammel of Birr, Judy and Bill Damen of Lucan, Murray and Noriza Hammel of Kitchener, Susan and Dave White of Lucan, John and Diane Hammel of London and Tammy and Fred O’Neil of Denfield. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jean Gowing, Pearl Heibein, Muriel and Lawson Ward, and Jean and Bob Coulter all of Listowel and Clayton Heibein of Thamesford. Predeceased by a sister-in-law Donelda and brothers-in-law Wray and Bruce. David will be sadly missed by his canine companion Heidi. Friends may call at the C. Haskett and Son Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be held at Community Bible Church, 100 Meadowcreek Drive, Ilderton, on Wednesday, December 13th at 1:30 PM with Pastor Scott Dakin officiating. Cremation with interment Ethel Cemetery, Ethel at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
