Surrounded by her family, at LHSC-Victoria Hospital on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the age of 74. Beloved wife of George Dauncey for 54 years. Loving mother Beverly and Shawn Dayman of Lucan and Sara-Lynn Masse and Brett Humphrey of Ilderton. Much loved “Nana” of Maggie, Tessa, Leah, and Jocelyn Dayman; and Olivia and Owen Masse. Janice will also be sadly missed by her granddogs Kenzie and Riley. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Laura Prekup of St. Marys, Doris and Jim Goble of Michigan, Gary and Linda Hayter of Lucan, Louise Hayter of Crediton, and Chris Hayter of Philadelphia. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Audrey Bannister and brothers Ken, Floyd Ron, twins Ray and Jack, and Ross Hayter.
Private family arrangements with interment of cremated remains at St. James Cemetery.
If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

We are all sending our love and sincere condolences on your loss. Janice was in my life from the time I could ride my tricycle. She was one of the best babysitters I ever had, in fact I remember cursing a few words outside while playing only to endure the nasty soap in my mouth. That was the last time I ever swore around Janice, too much respect for that.
I gained my first best friend – Beverly Bernice while getting babysat. Such fond memories of staying over at the Dauncey’s, sleepovers, birthdays, and once I had Charlotte – always stopping by for Hallowe’en for a visit and candy. Janice was such a beautiful lady who always put us kids FIRST, she taught us respect, love, and manners. In fact, she was like a second mom to me over the years, cheering me on through High school and University and always being there for the moments in my life that meant the most. I recently had a nice chat with Janice up at Foodland, she was determined to pack and carry her own groceries out – even after I insisted to help – she was a warrior and always helping others, never asking for that helpful hand. I know the girls will all miss her so much, ‘Nana’ and a wonderful mother to you both. Know that I am always there for all of you all, in fact we are all there for you, 2024 hasn’t been the best year for us, but know our guardian angels are up there now watching from above and ensuring they keep us safe. Growing up, I remember visiting her beauty salon many times as a kid and to this day I can picture it and her working in it, she had many different hair styles at that time.
