DACKO: As the sun rose on his 89th birthday, April 29, 2006, Stan lost his courageous battle with cancer at Parkwood Hospital, London. He was very special to, and will be sadly missed by his partner Jean Cole and her family, Deb and Colin, Wayne and Martha and their families. Predeceased by his wife Phyllis Letitia (Burns) Dacko (1994). Stan served in the army of his native Poland in WWII, as well as other arenas of the war, then chose to live in England, before settling in Canada. He enjoyed his time at Emco working in quality control. He was an avid โhobbyโ pilot, flying small planes. Stan bequeathed his body to the University of Western Ontario to further science research and education. In lieu of a funeral, friends and family will be invited to honour his memory at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made directly to Parkwood Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, where Stan received such wonderful care, or to a charity of choice. A tree will be planted in Springbank Park in his memory.
