CRANER: Kyle of Zurich

September 13, 2025 By Haskett Funeral Homes 105 Condolences

CRANER: Kyle of Zurich

Kyle passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Huron Hospice after a courageous battle with brain cancer on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the age of 33. Cherished son of Randy and Mary-Ann (Vermunt) Craner. Loving brother of Joel and Asha Craner. Proud uncle of Gabriel, Miguel, and Mateo. Dear nephew of Wayne and Tammy Craner, Rick Craner, Wendy Craner, Liz and Garry Masse, Joanne Boyes (Jerry Rader), Walter and Brenda Vermunt, Marg and the late Rick Gingerich, Joe and Laurie Vermunt. Fondly remembered by many cousins.

Kyle faced life with remarkable courage, determination, and a smile that could light up any room. Despite a long battle with brain cancer, he lived each day with a positive outlook, striving to enjoy life to the fullest. A true lover of the game, Kyle played hockey and later found pride in scouting for the Sarnia Sting. His strong work ethic was matched only by his playful spiritโ€”always ready with a joke (or a prank), he made sure those around him were laughing and having a good time. At home, Kyle cherished the chance to help his mom care for the children she babysat, quickly becoming a favourite โ€œbig buddy.โ€ Most of all, he treasured time spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will be carried in their hearts forever.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Thursday, September 18th from 5 โ€“ 8 PM, where words of remembrance will be shared on Friday, September 19th at 3 PM with a celebration of Kyleโ€™s life to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Huron Hospice or Bluewater Health Foundation โ€“ Cranerโ€™s Cause would be appreciated by the family.

    Mary-Ann, Randy and Families:

So sad to hear that Kyle has left this world . I worked with Kyle at Canadian Tire for a brief time during his teenage years. He was a wonderful young man, polite caring, and hardworking. We got along great. over the years Joe kept me posted on how he was doing. He fought a good fight, enjoyed his sports, enjoyed life. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. He is always with you in spirit, cherish your memories close to your heart.

    Hugs Debra
