
Sherry passed away unexpectedly, with her sons and close friends by her side at University Hospital in London, Ontario on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Cook (1978), and the late William “Bill” Haas (2016). Cherished mother of Kelly Scondrianis (John), Robert “Rob” Cook, and Sean Cook. Loving grandma of Avrel, Clint, Shantel, Apostolis, Sophia, and great-grandma of Yannis, Ellis, Viya, Mathaios, Victoria, Arie, Sebastian, Hazel, Lilandra and Ophelia. Dear sister-in-law of Beverley Gaffney. Predeceased by her father Michael, mother Mae Gaffney, step-father Glenn Pettit, and brother Michael Gaffney.
After growing up in London, Ontario, Sherry and her husband Bob, an NHL hockey player, lived throughout the United States for twelve years. Following Bob’s passing, she settled in London and began her career selling homes with Powell Real Estate. In 1986, she met Bill Haas and eventually moved to Port Franks where her kind, generous, gracious character made her a beloved member of the community for the following forty years. Sherry’s endearing combination of warm magnetism, unwavering integrity, and infallible good spirits made her loved by so, so many. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Sherry’s memorial service will be held at St. Anne’s Anglican Church, 10027 Port Franks Drive, Port Franks on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 10:30 AM.
A come and go open house celebration of Sherry’s life will follow at the Port Franks Community Centre, 9997 Port Franks Drive, Port Franks from 12:30 – 4 PM with words of remembrance at 2 PM.
