CLARKE: Unexpectedly, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Saturday, November 3, 2007, Alvin Russell “Gramps” Clarke of Grand Bend, formerly of Crediton, age 79. Beloved husband of the late Audrey A. (Williams) Clarke (1996). Loved father of Patsy and Kevin O’Connor of Lucan, Bonnie Haist and Bob Dentrey of St. Thomas, Larry and Deborah Clarke of RR 1, Wyoming. Loving Gramps of Michael and Fiona Hirtzel, Jeff and Stephanie Hirtzel, Brad and Alicia Hirtzel, Tammy and Norm Roy, Jason Haist and Sarah, Jennifer Clarke, Michelle Clarke and fiancé Keegan Wilcox. He will be missed by his great-grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Evelyn Hutchinson of Parkhill, Marie Dinney of Crediton, Ruth and Bob Galloway of Stratford, Howard and Jean Clarke of RR 3, Dashwood, Shirley Clarke of RR 2, Dashwood, Margaret Clarke of Exeter, Donna Clarke of RR 2, Crediton and Marlene Valender of Phelpston. Russell was loved and will be missed by his special friend Betty Laye of Exeter, her family, the Williams family and his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his sister Lillian “Sis” McCann, brothers Jim, Roy, his twin brother Ross, brothers-in-law Art Hutchinson, Don Dinney, Joe McCann, chosen brother Edward Valender and parents Margaret “Maggie” (Pfaff) and Henry Clarke. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Tuesday afternoon and evening. The funeral service will be held at Zion United Church, Crediton, Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Harry Disher officiating. Interment Grand Bend Cemetery.
