Passed away at Clinton Public Hospital on Friday, June 19, 2026 at the age of 83. Cherished father of Joanne Cameron, Janice Hammond, Brad Carter (Leanne) and Julie Snell. Loving grandpa of Megan (Devon), Lauren (Nathan), Ashlyn; Hailey, and Alison (Ryan). Dear brother-in-law of Ron Riley, and Renate Brown. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Carol (Brown) Carter, son-in-law Kevin Hammond, sister Gloria Riley, brother-in-law Bill Brown and parents Lorne and Evelyn (Williamson) Carter.
Whether in the stands of a hockey arena, at the race track, or taking pride in cutting grass and gardening, Don was happiest when doing these things he loved. Horses and harness racing were lifelong passions, while hockey and ringette gave him the opportunity to cheer on his five granddaughters. Family was at the heart of everything Don did, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved most.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Sunday, June 28th from 3 – 5 PM, where Don’s funeral service will be held on Monday, June 29th at 11 AM. Cremation to follow.
