BRYSON: It is with great sadness and profound love that we share the passing of Glenn Bryson of Grand Bend, on September 21st, surrounded by family. Glenn was 87 years old. He will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend of 63 years, Angela (Relouw) Bryson, and his children Troy Bryson (Amy) and Kim Thomas (Ric), and his grandkids Courtney (Coleton), Kenzie, Sam, Ellen and Ian, and his great-granddaughter Nora. He is reunited with his parents William & Mildred (Augustine) Bryson, brother Bill, and sister Evangeline and loved ones in heaven. Glenn was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy. After his discharge, he became a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, holding various positions on Branch executives including president of Branch #498 of Grand Bend, and a life member of Branch #34 in Orillia. He was a member of the Grand Bend Probus Club and Lake Smith Conservation Organization. Glenn organized the first Terry Fox Run for Cancer in elementary schools in Lambton County, with the first run held at St. John Fisher School in Forest. Betty Fox, Terryโs mother, presented Glenn with a personal autographed book of โTerryโs Runโ which was a treasured book in his personal library. Glenn is remembered by his family and friends for his love of nature. He was a Boy Scout Leader, instrumental in portage and winter camping trips. His family remembers him best with a homemade cane, walking through the bush, or caring for his immaculate gardens. As a teacher and principal, Glenn had a passion for learning all his life. He took courses for archeology in his retirement, and always took great interest in his grandkidsโ studies. Glenn loved to travel with Ange, with especially fond memories of visiting Ireland, Canmore and Newfoundland. In his later years, Glenn wrote his memoirs, following his family roots in Ireland to his present life and family in Grand Bend. His stories have been read and loved by many. Glenn was a lover of animals and over the years he owned several of โmanโs best friendsโ who no doubt greeted him with wagging tails. Glennโs navy exterior was no match for the quiet, gentle and loving demeanor his family and friends knew so well. His love for his family and strong morals are felt through each generation and will be cherished in generations to come. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend, on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11 a.m. , with a 1 hour visitation prior to the Service. Cremation has taken place with Interment at Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. Memorial Donations in Glenns honour are welcome ( payable direct ) to Jessicaโs House Hospice, Exeter Hospital, Terry Fox, The Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.

Dear Ange and Family
My thoughts are very much with you during these very sad days. While geography and circumstance long afforded few opportunities, it was so very good in later years to spend a little time in Glenn’s very easy and down-to-earth presence. And that will remain a good memory to carry forward.

I am so sorry to hear of Glenn’s passing. I had lost touch with him in later years. I remember him well as a very little fellow too young to be in school when his Mother passed. I often thought of him. Life was not easy for him in his childhood. He was an overcomer.

My condolences to Glennโs family. Glenn was my neighbour growing up, and my grade five teacher at St. John Fisher. I too, remember him walking through the bush with his cane and beloved dog. He always had a friendly smile and welcomed me to look at his fish pond. He was always so friendly and kind. May he rest in peace.
