BROOKER: Sheila (Long) of Seaforth

April 25, 2025 By Haskett Funeral Homes 9 Condolences

BROOKER: Sheila (Long) of Seaforth

Peacefully at Stratford General Hospital, with family by her side on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the age of 86.  Cherished wife of the late Bill Brooker for 36 years and was a loving partner to the late Wayne Boyd.  Loving mother of Bill Brooker, Toni Bennewies (Joe Caroll), Joseph โ€œRandyโ€ Brooker (Shirley McNall Brooker), and Debbie vonEuw (Steve Haddow). Proud grandmother of Charlotte (Chris), Christy, Jimmy, Tanya, Michelle, Richard (Sandra), Matt (Melissa), Billy, Brennan, Carrie (Paul), Donnie (Melissa), Trevor (Ashley), Jennifer, Shannon (Adam), Shaun, Jason, Melissa (Jon) Jessica, Sheilon, Tyler, Mark, and Shelby. Dearly missed by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Beloved sister of Chester, Barry, Wayne, Donald, Brenda, Donnie, Janie, Earl, Jerry, Jim, and John. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Earl Long and Jessie Long, her children Ann Coyne (Larry), Carol Boyd, Brenda Brooker (Boyd), Dorothy Brooker Richardson, and Timothy Brooker, and her grandson Tim Boyd, her siblings Peter, Connie, Dorothy, Danny, and Harry.

Sheila worked for many years as a PSW with Cheshire and Town and Country Support Services, providing compassionate care for everyone she worked with. Anyone who knew Sheila knew she was a huge animal lover; her favourites being dogs and cats, and over the year owning many different types of animals. Sheila was known to have quite the green thumb, growing the most beautiful gardens. Her love for plants didnโ€™t stop outside in the yard as her sunroom eventually turned into a green house where she could enjoy the beauty of her plants.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich St W, SEAFORTH on Tuesday, April 29th from 10:00 โ€“ 11:00 AM, where Sheilaโ€™s memorial service will be held at 11am. Cremation to follow, interment Elma Center Cemetery.

Donations to Alzheimer Society Huron Perth would be appreciated by the family.
