Passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 20, 2026. Deeply loved husband of Diety Bos-Schipper for 42 years. Dear brother of Dieuwke Schipper-Bos, and brother-in-law of Harm Schipper. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Aafke and Tim, Lia and Grant, and Colleen and Clay.
Roelf lived his life in meaningful chapters of 22 years. He was born in Groningen, in the northern part of the Netherlands, and 22 years later moved to Flevoland. Another 22 years later, in 2002, he made the journey to Canada, settling in Blyth, where he began farming chickens and working a cash crop operation. Throughout his life, Roelf remained devoted to the land—a farmer through and through.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the VON and Health at Home Ontario staff for their excellent service and help.
Keeping with Roelf’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER, on Saturday, April 25th, from 1 – 3 PM, with words of remembrance at 1:30 PM.

Donations in Roelf’s memory may be made to VON Canada or to a charity of your choice.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Vanuit Middelstum, gecondoleerd met het verliezen van Roelf.
Onze beide roots als kids ligt in Hellum. Jullie op nr 4 en ik op nr 3 wonend veel met elkaar gedeeld.
Dat bleef bestaan ook toen jullie meer op afstand gingen wonen en boeren.
We bleven op de hoogte van elkaars wel en wee door brieven rond kerst en later digitaal. Zo ervaarden we dat jullie beide een hechte band hadden met ieder eigen rol.
Nu is dit team uit elkaar getrokken. Je weet je omringd door dierbaren in Canada.
Hiervoor zijn wij dankbaar. We wensen jullie, ook Dieuwke en Harm met kinderen, samen met jouw sterkte toe as zaterdag.

We hebben mooie herinneringen aan de samenwerking in de jaren negentig tot en met 2002 aan de Ooievaarsweg. Roelf met de combine onze tarwe dorsen, wij bij jullie de aardappels rooien. Dat liep goed georganiseerd en was fijn efficiënt werken!
