BODKIN: Khielea of London

October 24, 2025 By Haskett Funeral Homes 62 Condolences

BODKIN: Khielea of London

Khielea passed away suddenly at LHSC – Victoria Hospital, London on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the age of 35. Proud mother of Logan Bodkin and Lex Bodkin. Born in Romania, Khielea is the cherished daughter of Tom and Sherry (Froats) Bodkin. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Mikaela and Luke Vandenberk and much-loved aunt of River and Storm. She was an incredible partner to Sean in the co-parenting of their boys. She is predeceased by her grandparents Gordon and Marion Froats and Leo and Janet Bodkin. Khielea lived life large, had an infectious laugh and a heart of gold. She would do anything to make you laugh, bring you joy, or buy you a gift to see you smile.

She worked hard. She played hard. She loved music, travel, and all things Halloween. She was artistic in her work. She competed in hair colour competitions, was proud salon owner, a dedicated and sought after stylist, and a professional up-do artist.

Behind that big, beautiful smile, Khielea sometimes struggled — with herself, and at times with others. She didn’t always see the value in herself that those who loved her most saw every day. She was strong willed, funny, and determined. She was loved by many people in this life and will be missed by each of us.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and the entire team at LHSC – Victoria Hospital CCTC for their care and compassion towards Khielea.

A celebration of Khielea’s life will be held at the Lucan Community Centre, 263 Main Street, LUCAN (multi-purpose hall) on Sunday, October 26th from 1-5 PM. Words of remembrance will be held at 2 PM.  Cremation has taken place.

Donations to the Ronald McDonald House – Southwestern Ontario, or a trust fund for Logan and Lex (cheques made payable to Sean Van Beers In trust) would be appreciated by the family.

Fly high Khielea, be true to yourself and watch over each of us. Until we meet again.

Khielea was my hairstylist since summer 2018, and I was deeply saddened to learn of her passing. She was more than my hairstylist: she was also my friend. I was unable to attend the celebration of life for Khielea, so I wanted to leave a message here to say that I loved her personality, I will miss her greatly, and I know that she was SO proud of her boys, Logan and Lex. Even though I only saw her a couple of times a year over the past seven years, I felt like I knew her family and friends because of how close she was to them and how often she spoke of her pride in them. Khielea was very different from me in terms of our personalities, but somehow we could talk for hours while she did my hair. I will miss those conversations more than I can say. She knew how to make everyone feel beautiful, but she was perhaps more beautiful than all of us, both inside and out. Khielea, you meant the world to so many people, and I am grateful to have been just one of them.

My deepest condolences to Khielea’s family and friends. I cannot imagine how hard this must be, but I know that she loved you all beyond words.

You had the most beautiful soul, kind, caring, and full of light. You touched so many lives with your laughter, and your heart. It still doesn’t feel real that you’re gone, and there’s an ache that words can’t fill. You were a gift to this world, and we are so grateful we got to know you, even for too short a time. Rest easy, my friend. Your light will never fade.
