BLACKBURN: Dale of Exeter

BLACKBURN: Dale of Exeter

Dale passed away peacefully, with his family at his side at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Thursday, August 8, 2019, after complications of Parkinson’s Disease.  He was in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Carolyn Blackburn and much loved dad of Carrie & Greg Parsons of Exeter and Brian & Heather Blackburn of Grand Bend.  He was the very proud grandpa and biggest fan of his grandchildren, Blair, Cassie and Jordan. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Bill Blackburn, Dorothy Blackburn, Don Blackburn, Larry & Helen Blackburn, Sherry & Richard Greene, Joan & Harry Kranenburg, Richard & Beverly Perrin and Pam Perrin.  Dale was predeceased by Betty Blackburn, Glen Blackburn, Charlotte Blackburn, Randy Blackburn, Marlene & Joseph Sebo and Jim Perrin.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families. Dale was known for his quick wit, sense of humor and words of wisdom, “nothing good happens after midnight”!

As was his wish, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at The Barn, Exeter Golf Club, 40374 Kirkton Rd, Centralia, ON from 2 – 5 pm with words of remembrance at 3 pm.

If desired, donations in Dale’s memory can be made to the South Huron Hospital Foundation or Jessica’s House Residential Hospice.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Prince George Retirement Residence for their care and kindness over the past several months.  The doctors and nursing staff at South Huron Hospital were always there when we needed them, providing kind and compassionate care and for this we are thankful.  Dr. Ryan, we simply cannot thank you enough for your patience, guidance, kindness and expert care over the years.  We are so grateful for your support to Dale and our family.

Dearest Carolyn, Carrie & Greg, Brian & Heather and Families . . .

Our heartfelt sympathies to the Blackburn Family as you mourn for the loss of a very important man in your life. Dale was a proud, kind, sincere, hard-working family man who loved his family & friends dearly. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour – telling stories, making jokes and teasing any chance he could. Treasure the wonderful memories he has blessed you with, as these moments will bring a warm smile to your heart. Reminisce with a smile or even a tear of Dale – he will be with you in your hearts forever. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.” Please find strength by leaning on your family, friends, neighbours and faith for comfort and support in the days ahead.

    Rest in Peace, Dale. ????????????

Sending lots of LOVE and HUGS to all of you . . . . .

Uncle Dale will be sorely missed. Loved watching him in action – making faces, teasing the kids, cracking jokes and one-liners. Always enjoyed his many roadtrip stories and knowledge of routes to take.
RIP Uncle Dale – love ya.
