ASHBOURNE: Peacefully at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Friday May 26, 2000, George Edward Ashbourne of Grand Cove Estates, Grand Bend, formerly of Stratford, in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Nina Alberta (Long) Ashbourne. Loved father and father-in-law of Nancy and Gary Malcho of London, Douglas and Sandy Ashbourne of Stratford, Ron Ashbourne of Mitchell and Judy Ashbourne. Loving grandpa of Adam, Kirk and Gregory Malcho, Holly and Heather Ashbourne, Pamela, Michelle and Christina Ashbourne. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Richard and Mabel Ashbourne of Stratford, Paul Ashbourne of Forest and Winnifred Ashbourne, Betty and Eric McMillan of Stratford and Grace Maxwell of Oshawa. Loved by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his brother Lloyd Ashbourne (1998), parents Ernest George (1981) and Beatrice Maud (Weston) (2000) Ashbourne. A Memorial Service will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood (519-237-3532) on Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at 11 a.m. Mrs. Irene Richardson officiating. George retired in 1989 from the Stratford Police Dept. as Sgt. after serving for over 23 years.
