At Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 Alvin W. Willert of Arkona and formerly of Exeter in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Edith (King) Willert (1994). Dear father of Dianne and Marty Brown and Larry Willert all of Arkona, Sheila and Mervyn Knechtel of Rostock, Steve and Sandra Willert of Toronto and Laurie Willert and Bob Hardy of Appin. Dear grandfather of Lisa (Scott), Tracy (Darryl), Brent (Lynne), Darren (Maryellen), Shawn (Lori), Tim (Wendy), Jody, Rob, Theodore, Thomas and Sunny. Also survived by 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Doris and Cliff Penhale of Dashwood. Predeceased by his brother Milton and his sister Ada Newton. Alvin was the Arena Manager in Exeter from 1952-1982 and had the honour of having the baseball field named after him. Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Friday evening 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th at 11 AM with Bob Heywood officiating.
