Former meteorologist and mathematics teacher.  Beloved husband of Blanche (Adams) Slater for 64 years.  Dear father of Fred of Toronto and Tom of Mississauga. Sadly missed by Fred’s wife Anna Todorovich.  Dear Grandfather of Alex, Evan and Justin.  Predeceased by brothers Jim Slater and Bill Deller.  Friends may call at the C. Haskett and Son Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Friday, September 1st at 2:30 PM with Rev. Suddenly, at home, on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, the Lord took to Himself our husband, dad and grandpa Albert Vanderlaan of Exeter in his 61st year.  Beloved husband of Jean (de Wit) Vanderlaan.  Loved dad of Allan and Norma Vanderlaan, Brenda and John Branderhorst, Dan and Sheila Vanderlaan and Sandra Vanderlaan.  Grandpa of Danielle, Kevin and Rachel; Bryan, Josh, Thomas, Joel and Isaac; and Noah and Jenelle.  Son-in-law of Neeltje de Wit.  Brother and brother-in-law of Sadie and Henry Post, Wendy and Bill Westerik, Tina and Bert Visscher, Wilma Truemner, Richard and Alida Poort, Kryn Van Oostveen, Trudy de Wit, Hank and Linda De Jonge, John de Wit and Marie and Dan Lievaart.  Step-son and step-brother to the Brant Bylsma family.  Also missed by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Ubel and Hendrikje Vanderlaan, father-in-law Jan Hugo de Wit; other family members: an infant sister, Eddie Vanderlaan, Paul Truemner, Jeremy Truemner, John Poort, Nell de Jonge, Willie Van Oostveen and Case de Wit. At Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, August 19, 2006 Grace Alice (Miller) Drummond of Exeter in her 86th year.  She will be greatly missed by her sons Robert of Exeter and Bruce of Clinton, her grandchildren Ian, Enid and Alecia and her nieces, nephews and cousins.  Predeceased by her parents Albert and Augusta Miller, husband James (1973), son Brian (2006), sisters and sisters-in-law Minnie Miller, Evelyn Rausch, Edna and George Maluskie, Gladys and George Crosby, Nan and Andrew Drummond, Betty and Drew Jackson, Olive and Bill Scott and Cathie and Stuart Harvey.  At Grace’s request, there will be no funeral or visitation.  A memorial service honouring her life will be held at Exeter United Church, 42 James Street, Exeter on Monday, September 18th at 11 AM.  Cremation with private interment, Exeter Cemetery. Donations to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
