Holland of Lucan in his 84th year.  Beloved husband and best friend for 55 years of Rosa (Sulser) Holland.  Dear father of Margaret and Dave Craig of British Columbia, John and Heather Holland of Durham, Robert and Alicia Holland of Manitoba, Pat and Rita Holland and Ken and Marie Holland all of Lucan and Kathy and Bill Lovie of London.  Dear grandfather of Robbie; Jonathan and David; Jennifer, Chantel and Bobby; Aaron and Heather and Jenni; Cassandra; and Andrew. Dear great-grandfather of Jasaine Jade (J. J.).  Also missed by several nieces and nephews in Scotland.  Predeceased by sister Margaret and brothers Frank, John and James.  Bob has been a life-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 540, Lucan since 1952.  Friends may call at the C. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rudolf (Rudy) M. E. Engel on February 24, 2006 at his home in Lucan in his 83rd year.  Beloved husband of  B. Johanna (Joan) Engel.  Loving father and father-in-law of Rudolf (Rudi) M. E. Engel Jr. and Mary (Maggie) M. Engel of Markham & Ailsa Craig, Johanna L. Engel of London, David Clarke of London, Cornelia (Cora) C. Engel Ryan and her husband Patrick (Pat) J. Ryan of Lucan, and Martine J. Engel and her husband Robert W. Mackereth of Thunder Bay.  Dearly missed Opa of Jessica and Jillian Engel, Alexander and Louise Clarke, Katerina and Patrick Ryan and Rachel and Eden Mackereth.  Dearly missed brother-in-law of Louise and Lo Vincent of California.  Predeceased by his brother Henry B. F. Engel, the late husband of  Brigitta Engel-Wilke of Germany and sister Margarete C. E. Haak-Engel, the late wife of Albert H. Haak of the Netherlands.  Friends may call at the C. Robert Grant (Bob) Davidson of Exeter passed away peacefully at South Huron Hospital on Friday, February 24, 2006 in his 62nd year.  Dear father of Sherri McRobert and Dean Martin of Exeter, Judy and Roger Turmel of Bradford and Rick Davidson of London.  Dear grandfather of Matthew and Emilee; Bailey, Maggie and Bradley; and Ashley and Taylor.   Dear brother of Doris and Al Hawkins of Thedford, Joyce Lacey of Hilardton and Arlene and Ralph Krehbiel of Kelowna, B.C.  Predeceased by his parents Earl and Shirley Davidson, brother Jim and sister Eleanor.  At Bob’s request there will be no visitation or funeral.  Cremation has taken place.  Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.  Hopper Hockey Funeral Home, Exeter (235-1220) entrusted with arrangements.  

William (Bill) Laird Mickle

William (Bill) Laird Mickle of Exeter and formerly of Hensall, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Stratford General Hospital in his 76th year.  Husband and dear friend of Frances (Taylor) Mickle.  Father and father-in-law of Pam and David O’Brien of Blenheim, Judith and Randy Pollock of Saint John, NB, and John Mickle of London.  Grandfather of Michael, Steven, Daniel, Andrew and David.  Son of the late Laird and Dorothy Mickle of Hensall.  Missed by sisters and brothers Betty MacMillan of Waterloo, Charles Mickle of Hamilton, Bob and Lynne Mickle of Ayr, and Ann and Bud Collins of Waterloo, sisters-in-law Marg Robertson of Cambridge and Isabel McMullen of North Bay, brother-in-law Bill Walker of London and several nephews and nieces.  Bill was active and enjoyed being President of the Hensall Kinsmen Club, Deputy Governor, Governor and National Director of the Kinsmen Association.  Served as Director of the Ontario Egg Producers Marketing Board and the Canadian Egg Marketing Association.  Bill was also the Vice-President of the Canadian Egg Producers Council.  Served as Deputy Chief with the Hensall Fire Department for fifteen years.  Bill was Councillor for the Town of Exeter for two years and for fifteen years served as the Reeve of Exeter and Councillor on Huron County Council.  During that time he was Chair of the Ontario Small Urban Municipalities and President of the Association of Municipalities for Ontario.  Bill enjoyed choir singing, curling, lawn bowling, golfing, fishing and a good story.  He loved a good joke.  He thanks his family and his many friends for his wonderful life.  Friends may call at the Hopper Hockey Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at Exeter United Church, 42 James Street, Exeter on Tuesday, February 21st at 11 AM with Rev. Paul Ross officiating.  Cremation has taken place with interment at Exeter Cemetery to follow.  Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Stratford General Hospital Foundation or the Exeter United Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.

At London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital on Sunday, February 12, 2006 Marion F. (Roulston) Bere of RR 1 Arva. Beloved wife of   William G. (Bill) Bere. Dear mother of Lynda Bere and her husband Randy Gellender of RR 1 Arva. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Geraldine Townsend of Plymouth, Michigan and Mary Roulston of London. Also survived by her many nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Predeceased by sisters Norma Gledhill, Jean Donley and brothers Keith, Charles and Wilmer Roulston.  Marion taught at the elementary school level and was the first Principal of Northdale Public School London in the 1950’s. She retired as a Resource teacher from Centennial Central, Arva. Marion served on many volunteer organizations including the Middlesex County Library Board, Thorndale Women’s Institiute, Middlesex Elgin Hereford Association, VON Homme Program, Zion United Church Women and OASWT. She was an avid gardener winning many prizes over the years at local fall fairs. At Marion’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral home visitation. Peacefully, The Lord took Anna Home.  On Saturday, February 4, 2006 Antje (Anna) (Braaksma) Koopmans of Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall and formerly of Exeter in her 97th year.  Beloved wife of the late Oege (Bill) Koopmans (1990).  Dear mother of Jessie and John Van Elswyk of Exeter.  Dear grandmother of Ron and Kari Van Elswyk of Dashwood, Carol and Joe Kelly of Elmira,, Lisa and Dave Snider and James and Gunilla Van Elswyk all of Zurich, Paula and Tim Olfert of Vauxall, Alberta, Krista and Frank Cirone of Estes Park, Colorado and Marissa Sampson of London and Sean Koopmans of Victoria, B.C.
