Going back to our days on Brock Street, where we were neighbors for years, I think of your big brother and his amazing athletic ability. Such a great bunch to spend time with. So sorry you have lost your big brother. Years later, Larry played broomball with Jimmy and Vernon. To All, know we send heartfelt sympathy. Sincerely

With condolences to Jim’s family and friends:
Jim has been an incredible friend and mentor to me for nearly 35 years. His unusual scope of construction knowledge and experience were indispensable, particularly in the beginning of my carpentry career. We completed dozens of projects together that made me proud, thanks in large part to Jim. Besides my dad, Jim was the most independent-minded, and displayed superior practical skills, with a hard work ethic of mythic proportions. Absolutely fearless, too. Jim always enjoyed a bizarre story and irreverent jokes, with an instinctive sense of humour that emphasized the politically incorrect. He recognized no sacred cows. He had an astonishing ability to see and call out propaganda imposed by authorities, from the glaring contradictions of organized religion to the deceptions embedded in the government-approved Covid narrative — and all without ever having consulted the internet. Often we joked that Jim was born 100 years too late — how he would have fit much better in 19th century rural Canada. He wasn’t old school, though. The school he attended was torn down to build the old school.
Jim’s idea of paradise was enjoying wilderness camping, canoeing, and fishing. His ideal home would have been wherever his nearest neighbour was a distant light on the horizon. Jim’s life was uncommonly harsh — at times of his own making — and some thought him too irascible and unfiltered. I understand that opinion. But, l think Jim also embodied an integrity, loyalty, and strength of character that was unique, and sadly lacking in this world.
I shall miss my dear friend always.
    Trevor Haws
