After 2 years, we are announcing that our Caregiver of the Month Award has been awarded for the final time. We could not be more pleased to have nominated and awarded this final award: May’s Caregiver of the Month to Kim Winbow.
Kim offers care to the members of our communities through her work with the VON as a Hospice Palliative Care and Bereavement Services Coordinator. When a family is in need of grief support following an unexpected or expected loss, Kim is the first person we recommend. She has helped numerous people and families with their journey through grief, by way of one-on-one counseling, support groups, and other programs she arranges. Her understanding of palliative care, people, and relationships allows her to place the right volunteers with people who are facing life-threatening illnesses. This is another aspect of Kim’s extraordinary capacity often goes unnoticed by those not directly affected by her work. Over the years, the connection between her work and ours, has allowed us to develop a wonderful working relationship, and at Haskett Funeral Homes, we are proud to also call her our friend.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
