It is with profound sadness and utter heartbreak, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Connor Jackson Rood of Lucan, as the result of a motor vehicle accident, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the age of 15. Forever loved and cherished son of Christopher and Mary (Saltern) Rood of Lucan. Adored and proud big brother of Mason, and Quinnlyn. Loved grandson of Paul Rood, Pam Brenner, Sue (Sampson) and Allen McDougall. Dear nephew of Tim and Jasmine Rood, Ryan Rood, Michelle and Bryce Bumstead, Brad and Amanda Rood, Andy and Ted Montgomery, Glenda and Todd Pressick and Katie and Rob McCullough. Much loved cousin of Owen, Logan, Nathan Rood; Landon, Tanner Bumstead; Ellie, Findley Rood; Josh (Laura), Mackenzie (Brandon) Montgomery; and Scarlett and Wyatt Pressick. Connor will be forever loved and missed by his second family, Shawn and Tanya “Mom #2”, Jaimee and Jeremy, Zac and Shawna, Jake and Emma, Bryan and Taylor, Marcus, Alyssa Hogan. Remembered by the Rood, Brenner and Sampson Families. Chosen brother of Issac, Cooper, Bennett, Cameron, Lucas, and dearly loved friend of Jessica and Ruby. Predeceased by his aunt Joyce Thomas Rood and great-grandparents Bill and Marlene Brenner.
Connor made his mark on the world by coming 5 weeks early and showing us his fight and determination. His spunk and witty personality were evident early on. He began playing hockey as a little boy and loved playing for the Lucan Irish and recently made the decision to join the Lucan Ilderton Athletics baseball team for the 2026 season. Connor poured his heart and soul into everything he did. He had a passion for tinkering with and riding his dirtbike and being with the boys. “We will love you forever, like you for always, as long as we’re living our baby you will be” – Robert Munsch
A celebration of Connor’s life will be held at the Lucan Community Memorial Centre, 263 Main Street, Lucan on Saturday, August 1st from 1 – 5 PM with words of remembrance at 3 PM.
