May 21, 2026 By 17 Condolences

FENTON: Audrey Louise (Knapton)

FENTON:  Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at Seaforth Community Hospital, Seaforth, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, Audrey Louise (Knapton) Fenton, formerly of Goderich, age 92.  Beloved wife of the late William Ellwood Fenton (February 26, 2013).  Loved mother and mother-in-law of Linda Arnold and her partner Bob Hoffman of Dashwood, Larry Fenton of Centralia, Gayle Giammarco of London, Doug and Cindy Fenton of Auburn, Dale and Cindee Fenton of Ayton, Heather and Bernard Boyle of Auburn and Jim and Kim Fenton of Galt.  Cherished grandma of 18 grandchildren and great-grandma of 34 great-grandchildren.  Remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families.  Predeceased by her parents Thomas Harold (1970) and Annie (MacDonald) Knapton (1982), infant son Robert Dale Fenton (1961), daughter Sherrie Lee Fenton (1987), twin siblings Donna Jean (Knapton) Bradley (1963) and Donald George (1982) and his wife Joan Knapton (2002), daughter-in-law Leona Fenton (2019), son-in-law Tony Giammarco (2024).  At Audreyโ€™s request, cremation has taken place.  A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery, North Middlesex.  Audrey was a dedicated farmerโ€™s wife who taught her children to work hard, spend wisely and show respect to all.  She was our rock and salt of the earth.  She loved to quilt and provided warmth and love with her many gifts to us.  She helped us raise her grandchildren and they are all the better for it.  She is deeply missed by all who call her Mother, Grandma, Great-Grandma and Friend.  Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.  If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario (https://epilepsyswo.ca/donate/) or the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en) would be appreciated by the family.

My sincere condolences to Audrey’s family at her passing. Audrey was a unique & caring woman whom it was my privilege to know from the time that she &Bill & youngest family members came to live in our “6th Line” community50 yrs ago. Murray & counted them as cherished friends and good neighbors -we spent many happy times together-guys in the shop- gals at a quilt & suppers & cards of an evening. Audrey was a kind & true friend and you as a family have been well blessed to have her for a good long life! She will be well & truly missed. Wilma Scott
