GIBBS: Peacefully, at her residence, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Jeanne Marie (Ridley) Gibbs, of Grand Bend, age 85. Beloved wife of Charles “Buck” Douglas Gibbs. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Lana Gibbs (Alex) of London, Lisa Gibbs-Hendrigan (the late Terrance Hendrigan) of Edmonton, AB., Charles “Chuck” Gibbs of Grand Bend. Cherished grandma of Halle Hendrigan, Hania Hendrigan, Greg Heigenhauser-Gibbs (Kierra), Nicole Heigenhauser (Shawn) and Dustin Gill. Dear sister-in-law of Bill and Bettie Gibbs, Carolyn Hunter-Duvar, Robert and Marg Gibbs, Joe and Linda Gibbs and Erma Gibbs. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents John Verne James and Maurine (Desjardine) Ridley, infant sister Maxine Ridley, parents-in-law John Arnold and Helen (Crawford) Gibbs, siblings-in-law John Gibbs, Anna (Frank) Walski, Marion Gibbs, Murray Gibbs, Margaret (Glen) Hayter, Archie (Jean) Gibbs, Janet (Bud) Johnson, nephews Eddie Hunter-Duvar and John Walski. At Jeanne’s request cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Private family interment Parkhill Cemetery, Parkhill. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. She attended Exeter High school. Early in her career she worked in London at London Life and then was later employed as a teller at a bank in Parkhill. After raising her three children, she returned to work at Chateau Gardens Nursing Home in Parkhill, where she was a valued employee for 25 years and adored by many residents. In her retirement, she enjoyed exercising, travelling, baking, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, cousins, and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and was loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 64 years, her family, and friends. If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Our condolences in the loss of your precious wife, mom and grandma. Aunt Jeanne will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of having her in their life. Aunt Jeanne was a kind, quiet and gentle lady. I never heard her ever say an unkind word about anyone. Aunt Jeanne will never be far away from any of us because we all have wonderful memories of her that we will carry till the day we meet again. RIP.
