Good old friend of mine he tried to teach me to drive a standard shift one day on Glover Road, and taught me how to fire a 12 gauge shotgun up on the airport here in Harbour Grace, we may have drank a few beer to many but we brought no harm to anyone. RIP my friend loves ya man.

Bob will always be remembered by us as the most kind, courageous and thoughtful man that I have ever known. Bob accepted my adult children as his own and when Jayme had children Whitney and Oliva he though of them as his own. He often said he had 4 children Cory, Kimberly, Jayme and Jeff he never made a difference between his biological children and his step children. We all felt so lucky to have Bob as a part of our family. We will miss him dearly he was so important to all of us. Life will never be the same without him. Rest in peace Bob we will remember you forever.

    To Bob’s whole family,

I’ve known Bob a very long time. He was so genuine, and one of the hardest working people that I have ever met. I do have a fun memory – Bob put in a pool at his Preston home. I was working on his website and we were looking at the finished pool. I told him he should hop in and go for a swim – h then told me he can’t swim! I could not believe what I was hearing! As most know, Bob has traveled overseas on fishing boats; I found it strange that he didn’t know how to swim. He told me, “If ya’ don’t have yer sea legs and ya falls into ‘da drink – yer done fer”

I’m going to miss your generous heart and your soul.

Bob was a loving partner to my sister Connie for many years. There are many treasured and fun memories we all shared. The times at their pool both places in Cambridge were filled with laughter, funny antics and just always good times. In Grand Bend Bob loved nothing better than to be on his tractor doing cleanup or in his office or sitting enjoying the dogs in the backyard enjoying a beer and visiting family and friends. We will miss you Bob, our lives are so much more enriched by being there for us all❤

Connie and families. It is hard and impossible to add a memory of Bob as there are way to many. So we remember, and then smile, to a very kind, humble, and courageous neighbour . Take care and remember we are here for you. The Backx’s
