HICKS: Peacefully, surrounded by love, at Huronview Home for the Aged, Clinton, on Monday, June 24, 2024, John “Jack” Edward Hicks, of Grand Bend, one week before his 91st birthday. Beloved husband of Kathleen “Kay” Edith (Moorhead) Hicks. Loved father and father-in-law of Brian and Deborah Hicks of Walkerton, James and Diane Hicks of Ottawa and John Hicks and Cathy Inkster of Hamilton. Cherished grandpa of Brent and Kimberly Hicks, Aaron Hicks and Melanie Tyler, Courtney and Luke Lane, Sean Hicks, Laura Hicks and Jason Dos Reis. Treasured great-grandpa of Lincoln Hicks, Dana Hicks, Bethany Hicks, Henry Lane, Barrett Hicks and Lucas Dos Reis. Dear brother-in-law of Winston Moorhead of Whitby. Remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents William and Margaret (Harken) Hicks, parents-in-law Douglas and Naomi Edith (Stevenson) Moorhead, siblings and in-laws Dolores and Bruce Sedore, Betty Ann Hicks, Charles and Claudia Moorhead, Louise Wagg and Linda Moorhead. At Jack’s request, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. Interment McKee Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

We are sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. He was a real gentleman. Lots of good times at parties up at Turnbull’s Grove. He always dressed the part and celebrated for his birthday on the first of July!
