RAMSDEN: Peacefully, at Chartwell Guildwood Retirement Residence, Scarborough, on Saturday, October 7, 2023, Elaine Isabelle (Gill) Ramsden, of Toronto, formerly Beaverton and North Bay. Elaine was born in Stephen Township, Ontario, daughter of Edward William and Mabel Annabelle (Turnbull) Gill. Beloved wife of the late Melville John Ramsden (2011) who she wed in the Grand Bend United Church on May 1, 1954. Elaine was a long time employee of the Bank of Nova Scotia starting as a teller and rising to the position of Credit Manager before she retired. She was an avid quilter and knitter, enthusiastic skier and curler and loved to travel. Devoted mother to Sharon Ramsden and her late husband Paul Murdoch of Toronto, Dr. John Ramsden and his wife Kim of Vancouver, Dr. Dale Ramsden and his wife Wendi of Chapel Hill, NC., Loving grandmother of Calindy Ramsden and husband Liam Murray, Jocelyn Ramsden, Blake Ramsden, Madeline Ramsden and Tyler Ramsden, Dear sister and sister in law of Marian and Jim Reith of Ilderton, Carol Gill of Grand Bend and Nancy Gill of Lawrence, KS. Remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Predeceased by her brothers Keith Gill and Brian Gill. At Elaine’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial visitation will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Main St., Dashwood, Thursday, October 19, 2023 commencing at 12 noon, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 1 p.m. The Rev. Nancy Knowles officiating. If desired, memorial donations to the Parkinson’s Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

I worked with Elaine many years ago at the Bank of Nova Scotia North Bay, what a beautiful lady to work with, one of my favorite employees,
