BALTESSEN: Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at North Lambton Lodge, Forest, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, Bertha Theresa (Van Stiphout) Baltessen of Forest, formerly of Grand Bend, age 92. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Baltessen (2004). Loved mother and mother-in-law of Mary Baltessen and Doug Ross of Wingham, Betty Baltessen of Goderich, Hank and Annie Baltessen of Grand Bend, Lambert “Chopper” and Nelly Baltessen of Grand Bend, John Baltessen and Karen of Parkhill, Theresa Baltessen and Bob of Forest and William and Tracey Baltessen of Chelmsford. Cherished grandma of 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families and the Baltessen Families in Holland. Predeceased by her parents Lambertus and Antoinette (VandenMortel) Van Stiphout, daughters Antoinette “Annie” Baltessen (1979) and Angelina “Angela” Stewart (2006), grandson William Baltessen (2015), 5 sisters and 2 brothers in Holland. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. Private Funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend. Interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. The Family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Staff at North Lambton Lodge – Oak Wing in Forest, for the care and compassion shown to our mom and our family during her time there. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to the Ronald McDonald House or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
