CADIEUX: Peacefully, at Jessica’s House Residential Hospice, Exeter, on Monday, May 22, 2023, Ernest “Ernie” David Cadieux, of Grand Bend, age 85. Beloved husband and best friend for over 57 years of the late Katherine Lorraine (De Vecchi) Cadieux (2018). Dear brother-in-law of Diane and Robert Bexton of Grand Bend, Mike De Vecchi and Marlene Barr of London. Remembered by his niece Kaleigh and Steve Clemens and their sons Luke and Kaleb (Bri) of Grand Bend and other nieces, nephews and their families and his longtime friend Rod Angus (Deb) of London. Ernie loved his feline companions Toby and Cass and would often be seen walking with Toby around their neighbourhood. Predeceased by his parents Lucien and Catherine (McLennen) Cadieux. At Ernie’s request, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London at a later date. Ernie was a long time employee of Parking Lots in the City of London. He had a favourite saying that was more of a catch phrase “You Betcha”. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to Jessica’s House Residential Hospice, Exeter would be appreciated by the family.

I’ve been Earnie’s hairstylist in Grand Bend for many years, he was a lovely man, and we talked about his cats all the time, and whenever he would leave the salon, I would say see you soon, he would say ‘you betcha’ , to have that in his obituary made me smile.
