
HANCOCK: Peacefully, at Jessica’s House Residential Hospice, Exeter, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, Dean Gerald Hancock of Grand Bend, formerly of Lindsay and Dwight, age 81. Beloved husband of Sharon Patricia (Young) Hancock of Grand Bend. Dear brother-in-law of Rosemary Hall of Phelpston, Brian and Sharon Young of Novar, Colleen and Jim Meredith, of Huntsville. Lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents William H. and Evelyn (Walls) Hancock, brother Barry Hancock, and sister-in-law Jackie, parents-in-law Gordon and Frances (Furlong) Young, brothers-in-law Doug Young, Wayne Young (Nikki Novielli), Scott Young (Gloria Wood) and Barry Mills (Rosemary Hall). Dean’s family owned and operated Spring Lake Motel and Restaurant, just outside of Dwight, Ontario. In Dean’s retirement he thoroughly enjoyed preparing and baking wonderful meals for family and friends. Sharon and Dean would like to express the loving and thoughtful attention given to them by their niece, Shelley Nobes. At Dean’s request cremation will take place and no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to Jessica’s House Residential Hospice, Exeter or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. My prayers are with you Sharon, as well as my memories with you both. Dean was my very first friend I made when I arrived in Canada in 1964. Good times with his family and friends in Dwight. Not only a good friend, but a great cook. Dean will be very much missed. Tony.
