CLAYTON: Peacefully, at Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall on Thursday, March 10, 2022, Ronald Clayton recently of Hensall, formerly of Grand Bend and London, age 85. Beloved husband of the late Lillian Ellis (McGhee) Clayton (2006) and the late Annette Louise (Weiler) (Trushinski) Clayton (2017). Loved father and father-in-law of Stephen Clayton and his partner Cathy Griffiths of London, Ontario. Dearly loved and fondly remembered by Cathy’s children Mindy Griffiths and Jonathon Griffiths and her grandchild Kobie Leboe, dear friends Henry and Erica Viera and Barb Cummings and Cathy’s siblings Jane and Jim Leslie of Nova Scotia, Jim and Patti McMeekin, the late Paul and Ruth McMeekin all of Owen Sound. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Olive (Brooke) Clayton. At Ron’s request, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. Ron was born and raised in England and played professional soccer for Arsenal. He immigrated to Canada in 1965 where his love of soccer took him to University of Western Ontario, London, where he coached for many years. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
