The Private Family Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Mount Carmel on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. The Rev. Fr. Vince Guilikers Celebrant. Interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery. Mary’s life focus was her faith and her family. She was known for her love of lively fiddle music, reading and her devotion to St. Theresa. She will be fondly remembered for her annual propagation of geraniums, enjoying her riding lawnmower and greeting newcomers at church. It was her faith and family that took her on travels to Columbia, Venezuela, Zimbabwe and France. She was a lifelong member of the Mount Carmel C.W.L. The Family wishes to express our sincere thank you to all of the staff on the 4th Floor, St. Mary’s Building at Mount Hope for all their kindness and caring to our mom. Donations in her honour, if you wish (payable directly) to the Precious Blood Sisters of London, Ontario, the Carmelite Sisters of St. Agatha, Ontario and the South Huron Food Bank.

We couldn’t have had a better neighbour living next-door to your Mom for 15 years.
She was always smiling and if she saw us would stop to say hi or have a chat over the fence on her way to church.
She had the most amazing memory of stories from the past and always thought she could write a book of life in Mount Carmel and the area.
We were always so impressed at her age how she would fire up the ride on and off she went to cut her grass. It appeared this was a task she enjoyed.

When we moved to Mount Carmel in 1967 it was a bit of a culture shock coming from Toronto but we immediately felt at home by the warm and welcoming residences of this little hamlet which included your mom and the Dietrich family.
Your mom was always so sweet and greeted everyone with a smile, but we always knew not to visit when Jeopardy was on.
The matriarch of Mount Carmel is now gone but we hope the wonderful memories you have of her ease your loss.

To the Dietrich family, my sincere condolences. Mary was always such a friendly and welcoming soul. I visited her a few times after my mom passed away and I went to a mass said in her honour at Mount Carmel Church. Mary was always at morning mass and extended an invitation to me to come over for tea before I left to return to St. Thomas. I always enjoyed my chats with Mary as she asked questions and reminisced about past years in Mount Carmel. She had such a lovely smile and manner. I loved how her voice laughed in the middle of her sentences! I’m sure the memories she gave her family and friends will be remembered for along time in the future. My prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.

Our heartfelt condolences on the loss of Aunt Mary. She was a kind and gentle soul.
My brother Glenn and I visited her in December 2019, and she was as sharp as ever. She and Glenn were talking about how someone was related, and she corrected Glenn! We laughed about that on our way home.
