(THOMAS) ROOD: Joyce Michelle Dinese

ROOD:  It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing, due to a water related accident, on Sunday, August 4, 2019, Joyce Michelle Dinese (Thomas) Rood, of London and Grand Bend, age 36. Much loved wife of Ryan Anthony William Rood.  Adored by her fur babies Kiki and Mika and the late Baby.  Loved sister of Sherrie Sinopole-Bressette of Kettle Point.  Always loved by her mentor Doug George and his wife Tammy.  Dear sister-in-law of Tim and Jasmine Rood of Calgary, Chris and Mary Rood, Michelle and Bryce Bumstead all of Lucan, Brad Rood and Amanda Gadsby of Dashwood.  Cherished aunt of Allison Sinopole, Cody Bressette, Owen, Logan and Nathan Rood, Connor, Mason and Quinnlyn Rood and Landon Bumstead.  Fondly remembered by her mother-in-law Pam Brenner of Grand Bend, father-in-law Paul Rood of Dashwood, aunts, uncles and cousins Cathy Hurley (Olivia; Isabella), Doug and Fran Brenner (Scott and Kelly; Jennifer; Jocelyn; Leanne), Dave and Bev Brenner (Colleen; Cynthia and Tyler, their son Austin), Deanna Cloud-Bressette and Rudy Sr., Gerard and Sue Rood (Tina and Dan; Brian and Bailey, their daughter Emily), Theo and Diane Rood (Warren and Sherry, their children Kaleb, Anna, Adeline; Lianne; Jeremy and Ashley; Steele and Brien), Diana and David Jeffery.  Remembered by Grandpa and Grandma, Bill and Marlene (Storey) Brenner.  Predeceased by her mother Florence โ€œFlossieโ€ (Henry) Sinopole, uncle Jerry Hurley, Opa and Oma, Carl and Dora (Grootjen) Rood.   Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 1 to 5 p.m.  Cremation to follow.  Joyce received her Honours Degree in Philosophy from Western University in 2006, and received her Juris Doctor also at Western University in 2009.  She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2010 and the Nunavut Bar in 2015.  Joyce worked at a number of firms in London before opening her own law firm in January 2018, Thomas Litigation. During her college term and career, Joyce attained many achievements, she received the Foundation for the Advancement of Aboriginal Youth, Academic Scholarship Award, the Southwestern Secretariat: Graduation Scholarship, the Southwestern Secretariat: Aboriginal Academic Achievement Award and the Genest, Murray Award for Outstanding Advocacy.  She mentored law students at Western University, had a great passion and volunteered with Community Legal Services and Neighbourhood Legal Services.  Joyce was a Council Member on the Ontario Bar Association, a Better Business Bureau Board Member, McCormick Care Group Board Member, she was Co-Chair of the Southwest Region Womenโ€™s Law Association, a Volunteer Lawyer for Litigation Practice at Western University, a Lawyer Supervisor for Pro Bono Students Canada, a Coach with OTLA Team from Western University and the Past Trustee of Middlesex Law Association. She was also the incoming Southwest Region Director for the Ontario Bar Association. Joyce was very proud of the work she did and all of her accomplishments, including her recent endeavour of opening her own practice.  She was also passionate about and an advocate for Access to Justice and a number of other worthy causes. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to Community Legal Services (Western University) www.westernconnect.ca/Thomas or Neighbourhood Legal Services (London and Middlesex Inc.) www.nlslm.com would be appreciated by the family.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
