LOVIE: Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, after a long struggle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Saturday, January 7, 2017, Kenneth John “Ken” Lovie of Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich, formerly of Shipka, (RR 2, Dashwood) age 75. Beloved husband of Barbara Ann Elizabeth (Morley) Lovie of Grand Bend. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Larry and Donna Lovie of RR 3, Parkhill, Bob and Nancy-Rae Lovie of RR 2, Grand Bend, Randy and Susan Lovie of RR 2, Zurich, Jo-Anne Lovie of Brantford, Cassie Lovie of RR 3, Parkhill, Catherine (Lovie) Hardie and her husband Jim of Granton, Shirley and Floyd Cooper of Elimville, Gerald and Cathy Morley and Ralph Morley all of London and Karen and Ken Keohane of Bruderheim, AB. Ken will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. A special thank-you to Kathy & Robert for all their care and support during Ken’s illness. Predeceased by his parents Carman (2009) and Verna (Bullock) Lovie (2011), brothers James “Jim” Lovie (2010) and Stan Lovie (2014), nephew Doug Cooper (2015) and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell (1984) and Kay (Thomson) (2012) Morley. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 498, Grand Bend, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment Grand Bend Cemetery, Grand Bend. Pastor Frank Struth of Grand Bend Church of God officiating. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to the Blue Water Rest Home, Jessica’s House (South Huron Hospital Foundation) or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Ken owned and operated Ken Lovie Construction of Shipka for over 50 years.
