CROWN: Peacefully, at Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall, Sunday, August 28, 2005, J. Andrew “Andy” Crown, formerly of Grand Bend, age 91. Beloved husband of Gladys H. (Jones) Crown of Grand Bend. Loved father and father-in-law of Wilbert “Bill” and Nancy Crown of Hamilton, Eleanor “Suzie” and Gord Pilger of Port Sydney, Ron and Sharon Crown and Debbie Crown all of Grand Bend. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Remembered also by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his son-in-law James Donald (2003), brother William Crown and sister Janet Comfort. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Bend Branch No. 498 will hold a service at the funeral home Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service. Interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. If desired, memorial donations to Br. 498 Poppy Fund or Queensway Nursing Home would be appreciated. Andy served with the Royal Canadian Army during WW II in France, Holland and Germany, was a commercial fisherman, volunteer fireman in Grand Bend and former employee with the Department of Highways and was the last surviving Charter Member of Branch No. 498.
