GREEN: Peacefully, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, on Wednesday, November 28, 2001, Burton Ambrose Green of Grand Bend, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Margaret Stewart (McKinnon) Green. Loved father and father-in-law of Elaine and Ron Wardle of Shipka and Bonnie Gallagher of Chatham. Loving grandpa of Christopher and Heather Bird of Concord, Brian Gallagher and Ian Gallagher of Chatham and great-grandpa of Katelyn and Kyle Bird. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Beatrice and Dr. Colin McKeen of Orangeville. Loved by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his sisters Luella Fairbairn, Esther Freeborne, Ruth Joyce, Dora Taylor, Mildred Hoggarth, brothers Ivan, Elton (WWI) and Henry “Hank” Green, parents Cyrus and Mary (Zaphe) Green. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Friday evening 7 to 9 p.m.; where the Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2001 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Harry Disher officiating. Interment Grand Bend Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Bend, Branch No. 498 will hold a service at the Funeral Home Friday at 6:30 p.m. Burton was a WWII Veteran, serving with the R.C.E.M.E., a Charter Member of Grand Bend Legion, retired Manager of the L.C.B.O. Grand Bend and with his wife were former owners of Green Haven Trailer Park in Grand Bend.
