CONNON: Maude Josephine Hawkins (Mingay)

CONNON: Peacefully, surrounded by her children, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Friday, June 20, 2014, Maude Josephine Hawkins (Mingay) Connon, of Exeter, age 89, of pancreatic cancer. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Beloved Wife of the late Peter Ferguson Hayes Connon (2008). Cherished Mother and Mother-in-law of Patricia and Husband Doug French of Garibaldi Highlands, B.C., Jane Connon and Husband Tony Fanelli of Clarkson/Calgary, Hugh Connon of Port McNeill, BC., Matthew and Wife Sabina Connon of Toronto, and past Husband of Jane Connon, F. Scott Sievert (deceased). Loving Grandmother of Nils and Kaylene, Leon and Nellie, Nathan, Sara French and Ava (Josephine) Fanelli. Loving Great Grandmother of Nara and Apollo. Dear Sister and Sister-in-law of Katherine and Richard Prout of Chatham, and Rena Mingay of Markham. Remembered by her nieces, especially Eleanor Kamester, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her dear Brothers Donald and Paul Mingay, Sister-in-law Grace (Mingay) Williamson and parents Henry and Maude (Hawkins) Mingay, Jane’s past husband, her dear son-in-law, F. Scott Sievert. Maude bequeathed her body to the School of Medicine, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Western Ontario as did her Husband Peter. Cremation will follow with an interment ceremony to be held at Grace Anglican Cemetery, Markham, at a later date. A Memorial Service will be held at Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church, Exeter, on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Grayhame Bowcott officiating. Arrangements entrusted to T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. Maude became a school teacher and taught grades 1 โ€“ 8 in Northern Ontario as a young woman. She attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and taught private music lessons to countless students in the Exeter area, and previously in Lucknow, for many years. She was also organist and choir director at Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church and previously choir director at Lucknow Anglican Church. She taught French and music in the Catholic and Public schools in the Exeter area. She made many dear friends as a member of the Exeter Chapter Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Many thanks to the Sisters of St. Elizabeth Health Care, Elaine, Jane, Heather, Ruth, Brenda, Julie, Jean, Theresa, and Betty for their kindness, and to Diane Leibold. Maude and her children are very grateful to all of the South Huron Hospital staff, especially the nurses for their kindness and tender, loving care. Donations to CNIB or South Huron Distinct Hospital Foundation.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
