CARTER: Peacefully, at Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall, on Sunday, May 18, 2014, after a long struggle with Alzheimers, Robert Daniel “Nick” Carter of Grand Bend, age 81. Beloved husband of Flora Elizabeth “Tibby” (Brunt) Carter. Loved father of Deb Carter and partner Tim Shaw of Mississauga, Karen and Keith Liley and Rob Carter & fiance Heather Stuart all of London. Loving grandpa of Daniel Bloss, Trevor Liley, Dylan Carter, Aydin Carter-Cotton, Jayme Wilkinson and Leeah Carter. Dear brother-in-law of John Dobie of London, William and Joan Brunt of Fort Erie. Lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Daniel L. and Elva (Perrin) Carter and sister Marjorie Dobie. At Nick’s request cremation has taken place. A Time of Remembrance and Sharing for family and friends will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, Sunday May 25, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Nick and Tibby owned and operated the Sun Shop, the Surf Shop and later the Lakeview Café on Main St. West in Grand Bend for many years, If desired memorial donations to Alzheimer Society, Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
