SMITH: Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia, on Thursday, February 13, 2014, Douglas Nelson Smith, of Courtright, formerly of Turnbulls Grove S., RR 1 Dashwood, age 87. Beloved husband of the late Cecilia Victoria (Whillians) Smith (1994). Loved father and father-in-law of Doug and Christine Smith of RR 2 Zurich, Jim and Mary Ann Smith of London, Heather Smith of Angus, Pauline and Dave Turner of Courtright. Cherished grandpa of Penny Smith, Vicky and Rob Bushey, Stacey and Guy Kirk, Darrin Smith, Laura Coleman, Cassie Smith. Treasured great-grandpa of Alison Smith-Coleman, Andrew Smith-Cooper and Kaylan Kirk. Dear brother and brother-in-law of George Smith of Exeter, Evelyn and Ray Gauthier of Prince George, B.C. and Muriel Smith of Exeter. Predeceased by his parents Nelson and Eva (Geary) Smith and step-brother Bert Dunsmore. At Doug’s request cremation has taken place and Interment at Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Glen Maddison, Shari Scarpelli and all the staff of the Hospice, they would also like to thank Kim Lumby, Cynthia and Brenda.
