OUD: Petrus “Peter” Gerardus

OUD: Petrus “Peter” Gerardus Oud, for a man who loved polishing cars, cutting grass and scoring a good deal, work was never done and certainly, more than seven decades was not enough time on this earth. Peter passed away peacefully at his residence, Grand Bend, surrounded by the love of his family, Monday, December 7, 2009 from complications of colon cancer. As the youngest, Peter immigrated with his parents, Nicholas and Wilhelmina (Brantjes) Oud, from the Netherlands in the 1950’s to reunite the family, sisters Annie Blom, Cora Jepperson, brother Ted Oud and wife Vonnie and their families in Canada. With his wife of more than 40 years, Adriana “Joan” (Boersen) Oud they raised their five children, to work together as a family, Carla-Ann Carlos and husband Peter, and the expected arrival of Opa’s first grandchild in December 2009, Jason Oud and friend Romina Stefancic, Dwayne Oud and companion Janna McFadden, Stephen Oud and friend Theresa Roelands, Andrew Oud and friend Sarah Breen. He will be remembered by the Boersen brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and their families. Predeceased by his parents, brothers-in-law Nick Blom and Adrian Olsthoorn. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers at the Funeral Home, Thursday at 3:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend, Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Father Thomas Donohue Celebrant. Interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. To honour Peter’s life, the family would appreciate donations to Make a Wish Foundation or a charity of choice. It would make Peter smile to think of the little ones made happy.
