
ASELSTYNE: Peacefully, at Parkwood Hospital, London, Wednesday, June 18, 2008, John Gilbert Aselstyne, age 94, formerly of Grand Bend. Born in Ottawa in 1913. Beloved husband of the late Helen Maude (Benson) Aselstyne and Elsie (Veiwigg) Aselstyne. Predeceased by brothers Robert of Orillia and Gordon of British Columbia. John was a WWII Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Upon his discharge from the RCAF, he joined his father-in-law, Tom Benson, at Benson-Wilcox Wholesale in London. Later moving to Beach OโPines in Grand Bend, he worked in real estate, as well as being a lay minister at St. Johnโs By-The-Lake Anglican Church. Music was always a big part of Johnโs life, celebrated with many celebrities in his home. His many nieces and nephews living across Canada and the U.K. will cherish their memories of times spent with him. Funeral services will be held at St. Johnโs By-The-Lake Anglican Church, Grand Bend, Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 12 noon. The Rev. Brad Dunbar officiating. Cremation and interment Woodland Cemetery, London. If desired, memorial donations to St. Johnโs By-the-Lake Anglican Church, Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Bend or charity of choice would be appreciated. T.
