
Don passed away peacefully at Jessica’s House, Exeter with family by his side on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Boneta “Bonnie” (Brown) Froats (2016) for 60 years. Loving father of Brian and Elizabeth Froats, and the late Todd (2023) and Jana Froats. Proud grandpa of Adam and Patricia, Danielle and Martin; Lauren and Nadia, and Jason. Adored great-grandpa of Vivian, and Maclean. Cherished companion of Marion Hedden. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Jean Froats, and his siblings and their spouses; Arthur, Glenn and Audrey, and Gordon and Marion.
Don was a proud long-time resident of Lucan and gave his time graciously in the community. He was a member of the Lucan Heritage and Donnelly Museum and volunteered with VON. Don was the recipient of the 2026 Mayor’s Honour Roll award for dedication to community service. He was an active member of the 2 PM coffee club at Tim Hortons and enjoyed his Thursday afternoon euchre group.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Lucan Community Memorial Centre (Multipurpose Hall) on Saturday, July 11th from 1 – 3 PM with a eulogy being shared at 1:30 PM. Cremation with a private family interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.
Donations to Jessica’s House or Humane Society London & Middlesex, in Don’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
