Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Huronview Home for the Aged, Clinton on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Janice (Gill) McCutcheon for 56 years. Cherished father of Mark and Heather McCutcheon, Holly and Steven Clune, and Matthew and Krista McCutcheon. Adored grandfather of Arden, Edith; Chloë, Phoebe; Zoey, and Lexi. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jo-Anne Sieffert, Bob Stewart, Faye (Bill) Merritt, Onalee Welch, and John (Debra) Gill. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Sylvia Lewis, sisters-in-law Mary Stewart and Marion Burdett, brother-in-law Bill Welch, and his parents Francis McCutcheon, Cora (Kittmer) McCutcheon, and Allin Stewart.
Lee was known as an early adopting computer enthusiast; a rally car driver and organizer; and an incorrigible punster. Lee loved spending time with family, especially at the beach, where he and Janice enjoyed many sunsets together. The last film he watched with family was Bullitt, starring Steve McQueen; he and Janice named their cottage The Great Escape; Lee’s knowledge of Hollywood lore and trivia was vast. Lee appreciated the power of communication; in everything from email to calligraphy; he cultivated these talents and his family cherishes them still. Lee will be deeply missed by his wife, family, and many friends.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Grand Bend Cemetery at a later date.
Donations to Huronview Home for the Aged or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

May all your happy memories help to fill the hole in your heart. Lee and I went to school together in St. Marys. We connected again when I was working on the history book for East Nissouri and I have fond memories of him as a friend.

Janice and family I would like to offer my condolences in the loss of Lee. He was such a funny fellow I really liked to see him when you were at Goderich Place. My heart goes out to you Janice. I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear husband Lee. His last few years have been very difficult, stealing away his skills, talents and connections. You’ve given me a beautiful vision with the song you chose where he has found his peace in the valley. Remembering him with love.
