Peacefully at LHSC – University Hospital surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, May 14, 2026. David “Rocky” Mark Hayter of Lucan at the age of 60. Cherished husband of Vicki (Mann) Hayter. Admired father of Mackenzie Hayter, and Jacob Hayter (Rianna). Dear brother of John, and Jeffery and brother-in-law of Bradley (Susan), and Tim (Elaine). Supportive uncle of Miranda, Melissa (Jeff), Matthew (Anne); Kyle (Nicole), Bryce, Colin, Rachel, and Bryan. Favourite son-in-law of Kathryn Mann. Predeceased by his parents Bob and Gloria Hayter, brother Richard and father-in-law Doug Mann.
Dave lived a life grounded in loyalty, hard work, humour, and service to others. He was deeply committed to his community through the Lucan Lion’s Club, where he gave countless hours organizing fundraisers and events that benefited so many people.
A meticulous painter with a remarkable eye for detail, Dave took immense pride in his work and treated every home as if it were his own. Respected by all who knew him and deeply appreciated by the many families he worked for over the years, Dave leaves behind a legacy brushed into the walls of countless homes and the hearts of those lucky enough to know him.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Wednesday, May 20th from 5 – 8 PM. A Lion’s Service will be held in the funeral home at 4:15 PM.
Dave’s memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, May 21st at 11 AM. Cremation with a private family interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.
