GRASDAHL: Ronald “Ron” of Lucan

February 21, 2026 By Haskett Funeral Homes 35 Condolences

GRASDAHL: Ronald “Ron” of Lucan

Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the age of 74. Loving father of JoDee and Chuck. Cherished grandpa of Blake. Beloved brother and brother-in-law of Wendy and Richard Jennison. Fondly remembered by his nieces Alisha (Chris) and Erin and their children, Claire and Emily, Cameron and Reid. Predeceased by his parents Clifford (2022) and Lauretta (1998), step-mother Mary Katherine (2019) and his brother Terry (2022) Grasdahl.

Ron grew up in Crediton, Ontario. He was general contractor of the family business Grasdahl Construction Ltd. building quality homes in the Exeter area, then a committed member/employee of the Carpenters Union Local 1946 until his retirement in 2016.

An avid sports fan, Ron rarely missed the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays or Buffalo Bills games. He took their highs and lows personally and always said “they will win their championships when I’m gone” – so get ready Toronto fans and Bills Mafia.

His favourite player of all was grandson Blake. Ron was often seen in the stands of the Lucan Arena cheering on the Irish or the bleachers of a baseball diamond rooting for #88 and the Lucan Ilderton Athletics.

In his retirement, Ron was a member of the Exeter Golf Club and spoke highly of the gentlemen in the Thursday Seniors League. Finally joined the Hole-in-One Club in July 2023.

Spent his free time reading and listening to music. He’s probably read every book in the Lucan Online Library. His vast playlist was mostly rock & roll, with some alternative thrown in. He even explored some country music after moving to Lucan but decided it wasn’t for him.

A private family graveside will be held at the Exeter Cemetery at a later date.

Donations to Jessica’s House Hospice or Ailsa Craig & Area Food Bank would be greatly appreciated by the family.

I had the distinct pleasure of playing with Ron several times when he and I were both active members of the Senior Men’s League at Exeter Golf Club. Ron was infectiously positive no matter how well he was playing. Most of the time he played very well, and I was always astonished at how far he could hit a golf ball with his driver.
