Passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home for the Aged, surrounded by family on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in his 92nd year.
Jerry leaves behind his beloved wife Anne (Skinner) of 67 years. Loving father to Paul & Cheryl, Chris, and Michael & Kathy. Cherished grandpa of Curtis (Lauren), Matthew (Megan), Celeste, Shane (Ashley), Mitchell, and Holly (Brandon) and great-grandpa of Brielle, Bryce; Colton, Rosie; Jack, Georgia; Barret, and Camryn. Dear brother of Teresa Ryan and brother-in-law of Betty Ryan. Predeceased by his daughter Mary Alice (1984), his parents Lawrence & Marjorie (Reid) Ryan, his in-laws Frank & Freda (Holborn) Skinner, his siblings and their spouses: Joan & Don McDonald, Bob & Barb Ryan, Jim Ryan, Jack & Marianna Ryan, and Nelson Ryan. Jerry will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Faith, pride and an honest day’s work was something Jerry lived by. Working wasn’t a “job”, it was how he lived his life. It was instilled in his children to work hard and show up for the people they love. He was a friend others could rely on.
He leaves behind a family who will miss him every day and carry his lesson forward. Though our hearts are heavy, we are deeply grateful for the time we had. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Though the road has ended, Jerry’s journey and legacy live on.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Sunday, February 1st from 2 – 5 PM. Prayers will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 PM.
Jerry’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Church, 17 Flora Street, BRUSSELS on Monday, February 2nd at 11 AM. Interment to take place at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that donations in Jerry’s memory be made to Children’s Health Foundation (Designate to Children’s Hospital) or Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Where do we start, having the Ryan’s as neighbours has been like winning the lottery. We’re so lucky to have neighbours like you, all. Your neighbourly support has made tough days easier and good days even better. My Dad, Howard having Jerry always there to yap to and bring Sebastian by to look at all the machinery and just talk shop and farming were the best. The days they enjoyed. Jerry always smiling lit up any room. And again the couple nights you all did at each others house and down to Family Paradise or the Legion or the Walton Hall. and all us kids being kids and playing day and night summer and winter. Snowmobile parties and tobogganing and more. Your kindness has brought real joy into our lives—thank you for your support and friendship, and for being such a wonderful part of our friendly neighbourhood.
