Passed away peacefully at his family trailer on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the age of 51. Beloved husband of Pam (Hoggart) Shewan for 30 years. Cherished father of Chris Shewan, David Shewan and Ally Drews, and Kevin and Jace Shewan. Loving son of Mervyn and Joyce (Morrison) Shewan, and son-in-law Harv and Yvonne (Pryce) Hoggart. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Cheryl and Rob Hern, Julie and David Smaglinski, Suzanne and Adam Glavin, Cheri Hoggart and Mike MacLean, Dan and Michelle Hoggart, Debra and Scott Nicolai, and Jason and Sandra Hoggart. Grandson of the late John and Marjorie Morrison and the late Lorne and the late Ethel Shewan. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends including his campground and Lions Club family
Steve was a dedicated and hardworking man who took great pride in his business, Steve Shewan Contracting, and also spent many years working at Merv’s Patios. He was a long-standing and proud member of the Dublin Lions Club, serving as president for three years, always giving back to his community with heart and commitment. Known affectionately as the “can man” around the campground, Steve would collect cans and donate the proceeds to the daycare where his beloved wife Pam works in Mitchell. Whether he was tinkering in his garage, blowing snow with enthusiasm, or stopping for a friendly chat, Steve brought warmth and kindness wherever he went. He especially loved the companionship of his loyal dog, Buddy, and will be remembered most for his big, genuine hugs that made everyone feel cared for.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH, on Monday, August 4th from 4 – 7 PM. Steve’s funeral service will be held the following day on Tuesday, August 5th at the funeral home starting at 11 AM. Cremation to follow at a later date.
Donations to Dublin Lions Club or the Perth Care for Kids – Mitchell would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
